Psalmopoeus victori (commonly misspelled as P. victorii) is a striking arboreal tarantula native to the moist tropical forests of Veracruz, Mexico. It is widely known in the hobby as the Darth Maul Tarantula or the Mexican Half-and-Half due to its unique bi-colour appearance: a velvet black front half (carapace and front legs) and a vibrant orange-red rear half (abdomen and back legs).

Type: New World arboreal.
Temperament: Fast, skittish, and potentially defensive; not recommended for handling.
Venom: As a member of the Psalmopoeus genus, it lacks urticating hairs but possesses more potent venom than most other New World species.
Sexual Dimorphism: Mature females retain the "half-and-half" colouration, while mature males typically turn a uniform solid black or dark grey. 
 
Care and Husbandry
Enclosure: Requires a vertical (tall) enclosure with ample cross-ventilation. Provide vertical cork bark hides and various anchor points for webbing.
Substrate: Maintain a slightly moist substrate to help with humidity, though the enclosure should not be swampy.
Temperature & Humidity: Generally thrives at temperatures between 22–26°C and humidity levels of 70–80%.
Diet: Standard tarantula diet of appropriately sized insects such as crickets, roaches, or locusts.
